Aviva Shira Bernat, M.D.
Dr. Bernat integrates Western, Eastern and Energetic Healing traditions in her Holistic Medicine practice. She is passionate about bridging these worlds to help her patients heal their bodies, hearts and spirits. Dr. Bernat’s medical training included Residency in Internal Medicine and a Fellowship in Pain Medicine and Palliative Care. She specialized in Integrative Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Bernat is board certified in Internal Medicine, Palliative Medicine and Integrative and Holistic Medicine. She has also spent more than a decade intensively training as an Intuitive Energy Healer, Acupuncturist and Core Energetics Practitioner.
Dr. Bernat offers Integrative Holistic Medicine consultations for patients with cancer to create personalized healing plans for each patient. The consultations include Mind-Body Medicine, Holistic Nutrition, Acupuncture and safe use of supplements and Essential Oils. These modalities support the healing process of her patients as they prepare for and undergo surgery, radiation and chemotherapy.
Anna Brantman, M.D.
Dr. Anna Brantman brings over 15 years of clinical experience the Prostate Cancer Institute of LA.
Trained both in Western and Eastern medicine, Dr. Brantman draws patients with various medical conditions into her practice. Her professional interests lie with comprehensive pain management and treatment of functional aspects of diseases. Functional medicine is concerned with the origin and prevention of pathological changes in a body. It is scientifically proven that by making changes in lifestyle, diet, and environment we can prevent or postpone the onset of an illness and modify the physiological and psychological markers of aging.
Dr. Brantman personalizes health care to meet each of her patient’s needs. She utilizes acupuncture, herbal medicine, and clinical nutrition in her practice. She integrates her individual clinical experience with that of her colleagues and the best biomedical research available. Dr. Brantman is a staff acupuncturist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and a co-investigator of several research studies.
Shiva Lalezar, M.D.
Dr. Shiva Lalezar is a physician who specializes in Functional Medicine, Integrative and Holistic Medicine. She has over 15 years of experience in treating patients as a whole, and investigating numerous factors that may lead to disease and cancer. The best way to treat patients with prostate cancer or premalignant changes is to treat them as a complete person. She uses specialty laboratories to identify the patient’s nutritional status and factors such as heavy metal toxicity. Dr. Lalezar is an expert in utilizing both conventional and alternative modalities in the treatment of her patients.
Dr. Lalezar received her B.S. degree in Biology from University of California Los Angeles, and received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences. She completed a residency in Family Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In addition to her educational achievements, Dr. Lalezar is also certified in Functional Medicine and Chelation Therapy.
